for sale (maybe)
so i am leaving the US for a few years and am considering selling some of my guns. specifically, my stainless steel colt combat commander .45 and standard mossberg police shotgun.
regrettably only local colorado non-felony buyers will be considered to stay legal. let me know if you have an interest. also have some ammo but that is extra. otherwise goes into storage for 3-4 years...don't really want to sell, but just not sure if i should bother storing for that long and it would suck if someone cleaned out my storage unit for me. |
Re: for sale (maybe)
...yep, just decided to sell them. Accepting payment in silver and gold.

Re: for sale (maybe)
I'd keep them if I were you. Bury them on some family property. You never know what the situation might be when you return. Going to France? Just remember one thing about the French, They fight with their feet, and f*ck with their face!

Some Americans only want to remember the 20th Century. But they can't even remember that right. Why didn't the Germans win WWI? That would be because the French stopped them and forced their advance to become trench warfare. Which basically remained static for the rest of the war. The Americans certainly didn't "win" WWI. We didn't even show up in all our untrained glory until 1917. Everybody else had been fighting since 1914. WWII is their main embarrassment. They fell in only 40 days to the Nazis. But I can't be disloyal to my fellow soldiers in arms. The French Army was basically equal in raw strength to the German military. They had about the same number of tanks and they were about equal in quality. And they were fighting on the defense which should have given them the advantage. It wasn't the front line French Army soldier that failed them. It wasn't their tank crews or anything like that. It was a failure of leadership. Military and political as well. Their generals wanted to refight WWI while the German generals wanted to use the blitzkrieg and mobile warfare. France and Germany should both STILL be two of our strongest allies. It would be nice if all Americans could treat their history a little more fairly. And I'm a US Army veteran and former Drill Sergeant. Gregg |
Re: for sale (maybe)
The United States wouldn't exist if it weren't for the French, that's for sure.
Viva liberty! |
Re: for sale (maybe)
Vive la France! I love the place and the people.
To people who know history, the French are not lacking in martial accomplishments. They are the blood of Charles Martel and the Franks, Guillaume le Conquerant and the Normans, and Godfrey Baldwin and Eustace de Bouillon, famous Crusaders; and in later generations such martial geniuses as Vauban and those who helped Napoleon conquer the Continent. That they were defeated by Germany in the 19th and 20th centuries again and again is nothing to be ashamed of. Were there ever more effective armies fielded man for man than those? Toss the guns into storage I say. |
Re: for sale (maybe)
Take up savate or le boxe fracaise when you are there if you want to fight with your feet.

Re: for sale (maybe)
But it *is* told, sorta.
The information is there for people who look for it. The problem that it is NOT what is being taught to our children in the forced public schools we have. |
Re: for sale (maybe)
Oui, d'accord, "Vive la France!" Mais...
... France isn't the place it used to be. For example, look at all of the trouble Bridget Bardot has gotten into lately for speaking her mind about the state of affairs. http://goldismoney.info/forums/showt...ghlight=bardot |

Re: for sale (maybe)
Wanna sell your ammo? I might buy if the price is right. Anyway, where in France are you going? Parisians are really arrogant in my book, but I met some people from Bourdeaux, and they were some of the most charming people I've ever met in my life. I guess like any one, once you're in, you're in.

I'm talking about the real French, not the Abdul-Come-latelies from Ageria nor the one who is the socalled President either. They can all piss off. They should all be ejected. Last time I went to Europe was France. Back when the dollar bought something. Hotel in Onzieme arrondisement called Hotel Beaumarchais, northwards from the Opera Bastille. Waiting for cab, I had some little wad of waste paper in my hand. The cabbie pulled up and I went to hand it to the bellboy. He waves his hands, doesnt take it and says "jette la." Well I studied French in America for years but years back so my listening skills were rustly. He had to say it a few more times, talking louder and slower like we do to foreigners, "jette la sur la rue" before I figured out in Paris its ok to litter by tossing a small thing in the gutter. Of course they have streetsweepers there and we dont. Anyways, that is what they should do with the human "dtritus et ordures--" they should Jette-les the whole lot into the freakin ocean. Hows that for love Eh" Love of the real France it is, "Patrie oui, republique Non" as Jean Raspail said. end of rant |
Re: for sale (maybe)
DOG don't sell your combat commander. you will regret it. They are much more expensive now and it is hard to find again for a reasonable price. I have always regretted selling guns.
France sounds good. Have a good time. |
